| #1. i will be cheering for the NY Giants this superbowl, not the NE Patiots like i announced at small group on tuesday, why? cause i was at the ortho yesterday and came across an article about how the Giants are the underdog, and i love me a good underdog, the Patriots don't need my naive bandwagon support, yay
#2. i discovered yesterday, thanks to my grandma, that i am a huge fraud, say wat?? yes, fraud, liar, deceiver of all those around me who are pure and blameless!! i found this out when my grandma was telling me how her and my grandpa had gone to the snow the other day and that she used to take me and my bro when we were younger <jaw drop> if u've ever talked to me about the snow, u'd know that i had been claiming for these years that i had been deprived of the experience my whole life until my attempt to snowboard at mountain high (in socal) during junior yr of college, i have zero recollection of going to the snow when i was younger, let alone my grandma's claim that i had snowball fights with my brother, i officially have the worst memory ever, EVER, so there u have it, i have "allegedly" been to the snow many times as a kid, i guess i trust my grandma on this one
ok that is all, wat? u want more? greedy greedy! u wanted the juicy stuff huh? well, too bad! i don't have any . . . ^_<
p.s. if u want real confessions, i mite be inclined to answer questions if u ask the right ones O_O, until then, i have brought back guitar hero and will be rocking out with alina till we reach 1 million points, the end.
p.p.s. i got new colors for my braces, i tried to do orange and dark blue for warriors, but it looks more like blue and then (as le hu puts it) orange like i've been eating cheetos, hawt.

| xanga is on the verge of extinction in my life, aside from the sporadic inclinations i have to check my subscriptions and read the posts of the vigilant writers that i am proud to call my friends, i have little reason to be here, but since my current obsession (gchat) is irritatingly out of service at work, i have resorted to depositing my verbiage here
quick update: since the end of october 2007, i've been keeping pretty busy so i won't bore everyone with the details, just the big ticket items:
1. moved to south bay to live with kim and alina 2. working at an opto office in daly city (yes, i commute) 3. attending GrX, serving in Kidzone (yay 3-5 yr olds!) 4. officially heading to chicago in 7 months for ICO =) 5. befriending some quality people 6. playing unsightly amounts of rock band O_O 7. special shout out to joe chingu who i get to see almost every weekend during his rotations at Travis AFB! (a vast improvement from the measly 2 visits per year deal we had before)
*****here is the line that divides my actual reality (above) and everthing else that makes me, uhhh me? <cue radiohead's "creep">******
currently trying out the role of a lyricist, in collaboration with an awesome composer ^_^ i hope i can hold up my end of the creative bargain, the hardest part is having all these ideas and somehow dropping them through a filter that leaves only the essence of what you're trying to convey and make it flow to the melody, my literary drug of choice is being superfluous, brevity was never my forte >_< but here goes nothing, if ur lucky u mite get to hear the finished product, eeeks
upcoming events: broomball? superbowl party, yao ming song performance (i lost a bet . . .) at small group, hairspray the musical, aaaaaaannddd warriors vs. suns game =P

| with the holiday season already abounding in it's red, green, egg nog, christmas lights, and mistletoe glory, it's no wonder that the angst and loneliness meter is about to reach maximum capacity (to clarify i am not speaking from a personal standpoint, just an assertion concluded from intuitive means), and while the world may not always be in emotional harmony, (and my recent posts have only served to exacerbate it) i'm here now to do my small part in rectifying it by shamelessly expounding on a superficial necessity: anime
if u've never given anime a chance, then i'm sad for u *insert very large, pixelated frowny face here*, as for me i'd have to attribute my initial interest to my cousin Stella (who recently got married, congrats again ^_^) without whom i would never have opened my eyes to a conscious-mind playground for all skills/characteristics/storylines that i wish i could hone/possess/play a part in, but am physically incapable of -_-
i won't bore u with the details of past animes that i've associated with (i.e. Ranma 1/2, Lum, Maison Ikkoku, etc. etc.) but just one: naruto
naruto, as of late, trumps bleach, (but my hero will always wear a black kimono). i recently took part in a naruto marathon (thanks for hosting le al sparke) which is wat inspired me to make this shout out in the first place (that and i'm working on a saturday). here are just a few reasons that make it so addicting:
#1. phenomenally fashion forward from naruto's orange jumpsuit to rock lee's emerald green wardrobe emulation of his sensei, Gai, it's an undeniable buffet of color, charismatic creativity, and a visual interpretation of the personas that lurk beneath the threads. here are a few for example's sake:
Kakashi "just plain hot" Hatake while the ensemble itself is of a typical jounin level ninja, kakashi's subtle choices for a half-mask in navy blue and side-draped konoha village head protector hints to his ever increasing mystery and intrigue, leaving the viewer wondering, wat other tricks mite he have up his sleeve (besides an unhealthy obsession for "make out paradise" novellas??) Uzumaki Naruto the most telling aspect of naruto's attire is his color choice: orange. Like the color orange, naruto is fiery, passionate, playful yet strong, and will unfailingly stand out in a crowd every time. it is direct, to the point and while it may never rank as a favorite hue in the fashion world, it is unapologetic in its intent.
Rock Lee as they say, "imitation is the greatest form of flattery" and nobody carries out this truth more than rock lee. while unoriginality is a major no-no in the fashion world, something must be said for rock lee's undying adoration to be just like his sensei. this sleek and simple outfit allows for maximum unleashment of his taijutsu without fear of unnecessary adornments hindering his swift and deadly moves Gaara gaara is the epitomy of accessorizing. his gourd with cracked detail gives a vintage look. the black eyeliner and kanji tattoo accentuate his once dark heart and painful past. when gaara sports it, it's all the rage - emo is in
Hyuga Hinata (Shippuden) just like her persona, hinata's outfit is simple and she wears her clothing for purpose, not a statement. her shy demeanor with soft-spoken voice complements her attire, but the hint of fishnet under the modest zip hoodie is indicative of the confidence and strength she carries inside, only visible to the ones that take the time to look beyond her whispered words and altogether gentle exterior
#2. excellent character development whether it's the constant blurring of the fine line that separates good and evil or seeing past wounds that have groomed the characters we see before us, one commonality is for certain, the viewers are forced to engage instead of merely spectate. the viewer may be inclined to relate to the protagonist at first, but just at the brink of completely writing off the villain as morally debased and unrelatable, a flashback occurs that gives insight which leads to empathy. by no means does it excuse the villain for their actions, but it humanizes them. (ambiguity is intentional because if anyone is wise enough to start watching after this post then i wouldn't want to ruin anything)
so i started this post yesterday and now i've lost steam. there are a multitude of reasons that make naruto worth watching, (i didn't even get to the intense fight scenes and ninja skills!) but i'll just leave with these closing words: cloaked under the gracefully carnal violence is a constant transformation of characters, and with each episode u are pulled deeper into the intricate weavings of life's struggles (love, hatred, revenge, pain, compassion, forgiveness, strength, weakness and humanity) that nullify the blatant fact that this is all just pen to paper end products. it embodies the simple truth that there is no black and white, just shades of grey, not unlike the life we live everyday
if u read through this whole post, then wow, u must really be bored, but thanks nonetheless =)

| when u don't have patients booked for the week, u end up having very
empty days at work just chillin on the computer, so being the
egocentric individual i am i started reading my old xanga entries
just for kicks, and came across this little snippet that has come to
be of relevance once again
"here's the secret guys: all girls really want is to feel
special and irreplaceable - but that takes effort, commitment and sincerity of the heart - if u can't claim these things with confidence,
ur not ready, so don't go acting on those animalistic impulses without
considering that maybe it's just a passing urge, cause in the end, all
that'll be left is a broken heart, most likely not yours - proceed with
caution"
just had to re-post, sorry guys, but let's be honest, how often have u had feelings of intent and then realize u were rash in your actions, and when wat ur heart truly wants catches up to u, ur already 10 steps ahead with pursuing the girl . . . to quote Bartok, the albino bat sidekick from the movie Anastasia, "this can only end in tears" guard your hearts ladies
on a quasi-unrelated note, i'm finally free, it really is according to His timing, and though i was fighting and questioning it every step of the way, because of His love and grace my heart has been renewed, always and forever a work in progress, but it's good to know i've cleared one mountain of a hurdle . . . even if it took 3 years

| if u know me and my brother, then u probably kno how different we are, but luckily we have to love each other and get along cause i can't make "yo mamma" jokes at him without it getting personal, with that being said, we aren't super close by any means, and while more often than not it's me prying to get to know him on a friend level, there are rare occasions where he will volunteer stories and information, and they're always worthwhile, one of his latest and best stories to date that makes me smile
some background info: my brother is a junior at davis, lives in an apt with 3 other guys, all enginerds (3 civil and my bro the EE) and 2 of whom (let's call them PB and J) are especially musically inclined with their mandolins, guitars and possibly a banjo on the horizon?
so PB and J were jamming out one nite and the next day noticed a white sign up on the window of the apt facing theirs, it read "we like your singing"
PB and J responded with a note on their window "thanks, any requests?"
girls in other apt "if u can learn to sing/play matchbox twenty's "let's see how far we've come" then we'll bake u a cake"
so of course PB and J set out to learn the song and after a week of practicing, that friday nite they opened the window, and with a determined "let's do thisss!!" they sang and played their hearts out
...5 mins later...knock on the door, they were worried that it mite be another noise violation (considering they've already had multiple!) but surprise surprise, it was the girls from next door with a homemade chocolate cake in hand!! apparently they had been waiting for them to play and had the cake all baked and ready to devour!
now they're all friends and hang out (girls also attend davis), awwww isn't that a cute story? really, u think so? then show that u mean it by giving eprops, yesss >_<
updates to come on: soul-searching, tim and tk's birthday bonanza, and naruto marathon?? (it's classified info so it may not be open for xanga entry exposure)
